This week I had my first snow school. Snow school is up in Bogus Basin, where there is like 7 feet of snow. Perfect. To get through it we had to use snowshoes. They were a bit hard to put on, but fun. Up there we went outside 2 times. After the 1^st time, we had lunch break.

On our 1^st trip outdoors because there were so many slopes we had to be really carefull. Once we were sliding down a slope and I managed to stop sliding, but couldn't get back up. Luckily I was helped up by the teachers. Then I had to climb this really steep hill. Everybody was cheering for me and I finally managed to get up, and was happy for lunch.

On our 2^nd trip outside, we went up to see this igloo that sombody made. That thing had been there since December, and was frozen solid. We had a lot of fun sliding for the rest of the afternoon, and we went home.

PS: I forgot my water bottle both times. It made the jorney even worse.

The Novel - Chapter 2: Four Stowaways

“Get into the rocket, fellas!” the President said.

It was a humongous rocket. It was glittering in the sun.

Andras gulped. He was ready to climb into it. He put on his space helmet and he climbed the stairs.

“10...9...8...7...6...5...”

Andras could hear the engines starting to roar and felt a little nervous.

“...4...3...2...1...0!!!” Blast off!

A little bit later Andras looked at a big box in the back. He could have sworn he saw it move! Then he notices another one moving!

“What's going on?” he thought to himself. “I must be sleepy and tired to imagine things.”

The next day Andras figured out that it would take four days to get to Calisto. He glanced at the boxes. This time he knew that the boxes moved! He ran to the boxes and pried open the big one. He found two companions in the box huddling together.

“Rob! Erik!” Andras exclaimed very surprised. “What are you guys doing here?”

“We followed you because we wanted to go on an adventure too”, they said. Andras ran and told his parents. They were shocked.

“Don't worry, they may help us load the rocket fuel when the time comes”, explained Andras. Mom and Dad quickly relaxed.

Andras ran back to Erik and Rob. Erik told Andras that he and Rob got in by fooling the President pretending their box was rocket fuel. But Erik could have sworn that he saw another box following them on to the spaceship.

“Let's open the last box!”, Andras suggested. They all ran over and tore open the box. Andras gasped. Inside were Meo and Hurka, the family cats!

The Novel - Chapter I: A Privelege

“Call from the President!” said Andras.

I groaned. I hated when Andras woke me up.

“What is it?” I asked. Andras handed me the phone.

“It's me, the President. I have found a start called Cameo. We have discovered two planets that orbit it. We want you to explore them.”

Yikes!

“Why have you chosen us?!”

“Because you have gone through many adventures already!”

“What adventures?” I asked surprised.

“Don't you remember?! At Christmas time Meo, your cat became a reindeer because Santa lost Rudolph in the fog and broke a bone too, so Andras had to drive the sleigh! And when a flying meteor came hurdling toward Earth your son used his new freeze ray to stop it! So be down to the rocket launch area by 2:30 am.”

I looked at the clock. It was 1:45. Forty-five minutes to go! I packed the food, Mom gathered up the supplies, and Andras picked up his guidebook to the Cameo-system. It took us twenty minutes to pack, fifteen minutes to get to the freeway, and exactly nine minutes to reach the rockets. I was scared and nervous. Which rocket was ours? We met the President and he helped us to find our transportation. I gulped.

The adventure had truly begun now!

Ceolocanths can only stand the deep and cold waters.
Here is why:
Shallow waters have less water, so they receive more sunlight.
But as you get deeper, the water is very cold and deep and receives less sunlight, just right for a ceolocanth.

Caught!




In 1938 a fisherman was catching fish off the coast of Madagascar.
Then the fisherman decided to catch fish in the deep.
He dipped the net deeper in the ocean.
Soon he was pulling up his net when a miracle happened!
Just as he inspected his fish he saw a strange fish.
Its eyes were cloudy and it had lots of fins.
He took the fish to scientists who looked at the fish closely.
Then they gasped.
" It's a coelocanth!" they said.
Since then more have been caught.

They were walking around looking for berries fast because a storm was blowing in.
"Mom whats that funnel shape" asked Lucie
"A twister Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh" she said. They ran through trees and grasses. But the twister sucked up there parents. But Mike, Jack, and Lucie ran into a abandoned house and into the storm cellar as the twister roared above them! when they stopped hearing the sound they got out. The twister had destroyed the house only the storm cellar was left. They started the search for there mother and father.

"What should we call them" one of the cats asked.
"I think Jack, Mike, and Lucie she said. But them a coyote poked his nose in the den. They chased it away.

Planet sign rubbings

Last Sunday dad drove me and mommy to a sign that said Pluto (Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus were along the Boise river on a path and Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Earth, Venus, and Mercury were in a park). The signs were made out of metal. We rubbed over the signs with several crayons. WE HAD TO WALK A MILE AND A FEW FEET! I enjoyed the walk.

CHAPTER TWO

That's when András figured out that it had to be the collar! He told mommy that the collar was magic. Mom Dad András and Meo went to the pet store to ask about the winds but the pet store was gone-except the machine that made collar coins. We found a note on the ground. It said: to go to Hungary and find a castle in Budapest.

One day András mommy and daddy woke up and heard a buzzing noise.we went into the hallway and a storm blew us to the kitchen! András went to the hallway and saw Meo, the cat. he was walking in the hallway without being blown away! hmmmmm said András. he noticed the leter M on Meo's coller.when András took the coller of Meo walked into the hallway and got blown away.

How to make ice cream without a freezer

Mom and I made ice cream today-without a freezer! mom didn't think we could make it that way.
Here is what you need:

zip lock bag 1

3/4 teaspoons vanilla essence
1/2 cup of whole milk
1/3 cup of sugar
1 cup of heavy cream

zip lock bag 2

2 1/2 pounds of ice cubes
1 1/2 pounds of salt

We mixed bag 1 ingredients in a bowl and we poured the liquid in a small zip lock bag.
We put it into a big zip lock bag full of ice and salt.
Now comes the fun part! we through it for 20 minutes to each other.
Then eat it! We got this idea from HOWTOONS by Saul Griffith.
